Ways to Save

You may be able to obtain credit for your previous work by applying coursework from other institutions.* This can reduce the number of credits you'll need to complete your program, therefore reducing the cost of your degree from Capella.  

Go to the Document Center to request your transcripts via the Document Center and begin your transfer credit eligibility evaluation. 

*Note: All transfer and CPL credit must be completed prior to starting any program in the FlexPath format. Any professional certification or external courses taken concurrently with FlexPath enrollment cannot be recognized in the Capella degree program. 

Scholarships are funds for college that you don’t have to pay back. Capella offers scholarships for many programs and degree levels.  

Capella scholarship eligibility may be based on degree program, field of study, and a combination of other factors. Capella Progress Rewards scholarships are not need based, so all of our eligible new and returning students and alumni are encouraged to apply.

More than 900 organizations—including corporations and health care organizations—invest in their employees by partnering with Capella University to offer access to discounted education programs. It’s just one way we make education flexible and affordable for working people.  

You may be eligible for a discount through your employer. Search our list of employer partners to see if your employer is a partner or contact your enrollment counselor to see if you qualify. 

Some employers also offer tuition assistance as part of their employee benefits packages. Check with your employer to learn more. 

Capella's learning partner, Sophia Learning, offers low-cost general education courses for Bachelor's students. You can sample Sophia offerings for free, and if you enroll, your completed courses may transfer to your Capella degree.* Contact your enrollment counselor for additional information.

If you have certificates or training from previous work, continuing education, military experience and other types of learning, you may be able to turn that training and experience into credit through Capella's prior learning process.*

If you want to pursue a bachelor's followed by a master's, you may be able to get a jump-start on your advanced degree by taking master's-level courses as part of your undergraduate work.
